RHS Renaissance students got the opportunity to visit with Mayor Fred Teague. He spoke with students about the impact of serving the community, developing and leading all the Russ Bus program for the last decade, and being Citizen of the Year. Mayor Teague discussed what led him to take a step to run for mayor and how he could continue to help the community with a much broader positive impact. Students asked engaging questions about the most impactful and challenging cases he dealt with in his term as Director of the Russ Bus. He also described his 30 day homeless experience demonstrating his desire to learn to help improve the lives of those around him.

Cyclone Robotics team number 967E earned the Design Award at the Phoenix Punch-Out Robotics Tournament in Springdale.
The Design Award is presented to a team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management, and team organization. The team’s Engineering Notebook and Judges interview demonstrates the team’s ability to produce a quality robot with minimal adult assistance. The design judging and interview are carried out by industry and higher education professionals and require the students to practice communication skills, professionalism, and teamwork in real time.
Team 967E consists of Jordan Bain, Andrew Escue, Bigbai Flores Landa, Vicente Merino Gonzalez, Judit Morales-Mora, Garren Skartvedt. Judit is the lead designer on this team and heads up project management.
Three other robotics teams competed and made it to at least the quarter finals. All 5 RHS Cyclone Robotics teams are now qualified to compete at the State Championship hosted by Arkansas Tech University on March 11th!
